How To Use
Take Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) orally, usually 3 times a day, 4-6 hours apart. Swallow the pills whole with a large glass of water. Do not crush or chew these tablets as the bitter taste may induce gagging or vomiting. Follow the instructions of your doctor exactly, even if they differ from the usually recommended dosage.

Avoid eating grapefruit products or grapefruit juice while taking Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), unless you doctor tells you otherwise.

Overdose
If you think you have taken too much Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), you should contact your local poison control center or the emergency medical services immediately.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next scheduled dosage, skip the missed dose and resume your normal schedule. Do not attempt to double up on this medication to make up for a missed dose.

Notes
While taking Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), you should have regular laboratory or medical tests to chart your progress and check for side effects, especially if you suffer from a heart condition. Make sure you do not miss any of these appointments.

Do not share this medication with others, as they may have a condition that is not adequately treated with Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel).

Storage
Store Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) at room temperature, below 86 degrees F (30 degrees C) and away from light and moisture. Once finished, make sure you dispose of this medication in keeping with environmental standards. KEEP THIS AND ALL OTHER MEDICATION OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions
Before taking Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), inform your doctor of your medical history, including:

• Any allergies
• A parasitic eye infection (ocular cysticercosis)
• Liver diseases or an enlarged spleen
• Heart disease or irregular heart rhythm
• Parasitic brain infection (cerebral cysticercosis)
• Seizures

If you suffer or ever have suffered from any of the above conditions, you may not be able to take Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) or you may need a dosage adjustment.

Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) may cause dizziness or drowsiness. It is therefore advised not to drive or operate heavy machinery until you are sure you can perform these activities safely.

Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) is classified as Pregnancy Category B by the FDA, which means it is not expected to cause any harm to an unborn baby. However, caution is still advised when taking this medication if you are currently pregnant or planning to get pregnant during treatment. Discuss all risks and benefits with your doctor first.
Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) passes into breast milk and may harm a nursing infant. It is therefore advised to temporarily stop breastfeeding on the day of taking this medication and for 72 hours thereafter.

Drug Interactions

Before taking Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel), inform your doctor of all other medication you are currently using, including:

• Rifampin
• Chloroquine
• Cimetidine
• Dexamethasone
• Azole antifungals (e.g. ketoconazole or itraconazole)
• Macrolide antibiotics such as erythromycin
• Anti-seizure medicines (e.g. carbamazepine, phenytoin or phenobarbital)

This is only a partial list and other medicines may interact with Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel). Notify your doctor of all other prescription and non-prescription medication you are using, including vitamins, minerals, herbal pills, dietary supplements and medication prescribed by other doctors. Do not start or stop using any medication without discussing this with your doctor first.

The following common side effects of Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel) may occur:

• Headaches
• Dizziness
• Stomach pain
• Nausea
• Tiredness
• Weakness
• Joint or muscle pain
• Loss of appetite
• Vomiting
• Sweating

The above side effects are usually mild and only last temporarily. Sometimes they could also be caused by the parasitic infection itself or by the dying parasites. If any of these side effects persist or worsen, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following rare but very serious side effects:

• Bloody diarrhea
• Fever
• Irregular or slow heartbeat
• Seizures

Rarely, you may experience a severe allergic reaction to Generic Biltricide (Praziquantel). Seek emergency medical attention if you experience any of the following symptoms:

• Rash
• Itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue or throat)
• Severe dizziness
• Trouble breathing
