How to use Generic Zyban (Bupropion) needs to be taken orally, 1-3 times a day. This medication can be taken with or without food, but take it with a meal if nausea occurs. The pills should be swallowed whole, without crushing or chewing them. Take exactly as directed by your doctor, even if his advise differs from the recommended dosage. For maximum effect, Generic Zyban (Bupropion) should be taken for 7-12 weeks and up to 6 months. It is advised to only stop smoking one week after the start of your treatment, as the level of medication in the blood stream must be sufficiently high.
Do not smoke if you are using Generic Zyban (Bupropion) in combination with nicotine products. Too much nicotine can cause serious side effects.
Overdose Potential ymptoms of a Generic Zyban (Bupropion) overdose include:
- Blurred vision
- Lightheadedness
- Confusion
- Nausea
- Seizures
If you suspect you have taken too much of this medication, you should contact your local poison control center or the emergency medical services immediately.
Notes Do not share this medication with others as they may have a condition that is not adequately treated by Generic Zyban (Bupropion).
Generic Zyban (Bupropion) should only be used by habitual smokers of 18 years or over.
Missed dose If you miss a dose of Generic Zyban (Bupropion), you should skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not attempt to double up on this medication to make up for a missed dose, as this may increase the risk of certain side effects.
Storage Store at room temperature at 77 degrees F (25 degrees C) and away from light and moisture. Brief storage between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) is permitted. Do not store in the bathroom. KEEP THIS AND ALL MEDICATIONS OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions

Generic Zyban (Bupropion) has been classed as Pregnancy Category C by the FDA, which means it could potentially harm an unborn child. It is not recommended to take this medication when pregnant. Talk to your doctor before taking Generic Zyban (Bupropion), if you are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant during treatment.
Generic Zyban (Bupropion) passes into breast milk and it is not yet know whether it could harm a nursing infant. Inform your doctor before taking this medication if you are currently breastfeeding a baby.
Drug Interactions Before taking Generic Zyban (Bupropion), inform your doctor of all other medications you are currently using, especially of:
- MAO inhibitors (e.g. Isocarboxazid, Phenelzine, Tranylcypromine, Pargyline, Selegiline, Linezolid, Furazolidone)
- Levodopa
- Ritonavir
- Corticosteroids (e.g. Prednisone)
- Sedatives
- Adrenaline-like stimulants (e.g. Ephedrine)
- Products containing nicotine (e.g., patches or gum)
- Phenothiazines (e.g. Chlorpromazine)
- Tricyclic antidepressants (e.g. Amitriptyline)
- Isoniazid (INH)
- Theophylline
- Other products containing Bupropion
Excess consumption of caffeine in combination with Generic Zyban (Bupropion) may increase the risk of seizures. Do not consume large amounts of caffeine while taking this medication and check all labels of your presciption and non-prescription medication for caffeine.

How does Generic Zyban (Bupropion) work?
Neurotransmitters are natural chemicals in the body, which are responsible for transmitting messages in the brain. What is the recommended dosage of Generic Zyban (Bupropion)?
The recommended starting dosage for Generic Zyban (Bupropion) is 150mg, taken once a day, usually in the morning. As early as the fourth day of treatment, your doctor may start prescribing you the higher dosage of 300mg, divided into two dosages of 150mg per day.
