How to use
Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) should be taken orally, at approximately the same time once a day. You can take Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) with or without food.
You should empty your bladder before taking Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide).

Follow the directions of your doctor exactly as he will determine your dosage based on a variety of factors, including your height, weight, age, general health and the condition that is being treated.

Overdose

If you suspect you have taken too much of this medication, please contact your local poison control center or emergency medical services immediately. An overdose of Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) is not expected to cause life threatening symptoms.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide), take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not try to make up for a missed dose by doubling up.

Notes
Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) should not be used by women or children.

Your doctor may want to perform regular medical tests to see how you are responding to the medication and if you are suffering from any side effects.

Do not share this medication with others, as they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this drug.

Storage
Store Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), away from heat and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL OTHER MEDICATION OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions
Before using Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide), make sure to inform your doctor of your medical history, especially of:

• Liver diseases
• Allergies (especially drug allergies)
• Diabetes

Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) is classed as FDA Pregnancy Category X, which means it can cause birth defects in unborn babies. Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) should only be used by men in the first instance, but if you are a woman taking this medication, you should inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or become pregnant during treatment with Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide).
Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) passes into breast milk and could potentially harm a nursing infant. Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) should only be used by men in the first instance, but if you are a woman taking this medication and if you are breastfeeding, contact your doctor immediately. You should not take Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide) when breast feeding.

Diabetic patients should carefully monitor their serum glucose when taking Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide).

Drug Interactions
Before taking Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide), you should inform your doctor if you take any of the following:

• Astemizole
• Cisapride
• Terfenadine
• Blood thinners (e.g. Warfarin)

The above is only a partial list and other medications may interact with Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide). Inform your doctor of all other prescription and over-the-counter medicines you use, including vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbal pills and medication prescribed by another doctor. Do not change medications without talking to your doctor first.

The following side effects may occur when taking Generic Casodex (Bicalutamide):

• Hot flushes
• Diarrhea, constipation, nausea
• Body aches
• Dizziness
• Increased urination
• Cough
• Swelling or tenderness of the breasts
• Decreased sexual desire

Notify your doctor immediately if any of these symptoms continue or worsen.

Also notify your doctor immediately if any of the following side effects occur:

• Trouble breathing
• Swelling of the hands or feet
• Bloody urine
• Depression
• Flu-like symptoms (fever, chills)
• Unusual weakness

Seek immediate medical attention if the following side effects occur:

• Dark urine
• Stomach pain
• Yellowing eyes/skin
• Extreme fatigue

Rarely, serious (possibly fatal) liver disease could occur.
