How to use
Generic Femara (Letrozole) should be taken orally with or without food. It should be used once a day unless otherwise directed by your doctor. Take Generic Femara (Letrozole) at approximately the same time every day to benefit from its maximum effects.

Your doctor will determine the most effective dosage for you depending on a number of factors, including your age, height, weight, general health and the condition being treated.

Overdose
If you suspect you have taken too much of this medication, you should contact your local poison control center or the emergency medical services immediately.

Missed Dose

If you miss a dose of Generic Femara (Letrozole), take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not try to make up for a missed dose by doubling up.

Notes
Generic Femara (Letrozole) should only be taken by women after the menopause. Do not take this medication if you are pre-menopausal.

Your doctor may want to perform regular medical tests to monitor your progress and check for side effects.

Do not share this medication with others, as they may have a problem that is not effectively treated by this drug.

Storage
Store Generic Femara (Letrozole) at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), away from heat and moisture. KEEP THIS AND ALL OTHER MEDICATION OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions

Before using Generic Femara (Letrozole), make sure to inform your doctor if you suffer or have suffered from any of the following:

• Any allergies
• High cholesterol
• Bone problems (e.g. osteopenia, osteoporosis)
• Stroke or blood clots
• Heart disease, chest pain, heart attack, heart failure
• High blood pressure
• Kidney or liver problems.

If you suffer from any of the above, you may need additional tests or a dosage adjustment.

Generic Femara (Letrozole) is classed as FDA Pregnancy Category D, which means it can potentially harm an unborn baby. Inform your doctor immediately if you are pregnant or become pregnant during treatment with Generic Femara (Letrozole).
Do not use Generic Femara (Letrozole) while breastfeeding. It is not yet known if Generic Femara (Letrozole) passes into breast milk or if it could harm a young infant, so caution is advised. If you are breast feeding, you should talk to your doctor before starting treatment with Generic Femara (Letrozole).

Avoid exposure to the sun and wear an adequate sunscreen (minimum SPF 15) or protective clothing.

Drug Interactions
Before taking Generic Femara (Letrozole), you should inform your doctor if you take any of the following:

• Estrogens (e.g. Ethinyl Estradiol, Conjugated Estrogens)
• Estrogen blockers (e.g. Anastrozole, Tamoxifen)
• Raloxifene
• Oral contraceptives

The above is only a partial list and other medications may interact with Generic Femara (Letrozole). Inform your doctor of all other prescription and over-the-counter medicines you use, including vitamins, nutritional supplements, herbal pills and medication prescribed by another doctor. Do not change medications without talking to your doctor first.

Common side effects of Generic Femara (Letrozole) include:

• Hot flushes
• Hair loss
• Joint, bone or muscle pain
• Tiredness
• Unusual sweating
• Nausea, diarrhea
• Dizziness
• Trouble sleeping

Inform your doctor if any of the following unlikely but serious side effects occur:

• Bone fractures
• Mental or mood changes (e.g. depression, anxiety)
• Swelling of the arms or legs
• Blurred vision

Seek emergency medical attention if you experience any of the following rare but very serious side effects:

• Sudden shortness of breath
• Pain in the chest, jaw or left arm
• Confusion
• Coughing up blood
• Sudden dizziness or fainting
• Pain, swelling or warmth in the groin or calf
• Tingling, weakness or numbness in the arms or legs
• Slurred speech
• Weakness on one side of the body
• Vision changes
• Sudden and severe headache
• Persistent nausea or vomiting
• Dark urine
• Yellowing of the eyes or skin

Also seek immediate emergency attention if you experience any of the following very unlikely but serious allergic reactions to Generic Femara (Letrozole):

• Rash
• Itching or swelling of the face, tongue, neck or throat
• Severe dizziness
• Trouble breathing

Generic Femara (Letrozole) can cause a decrease in white blood cells, serious bone effects (such as a decrease in bone density, fractures or osteoporosis and conditions resulting from blood clots, such as a heart attack or stroke.
