Description
Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) is a drug that helps relieve pain associated with osteoarthritis and adult rheumatoid arthritis. Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) has become popular because it is easier on the stomach than other anti-arthritis medications. Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which relieves pain and inflammation (swelling). It is used to treat pain, swelling and stiffness due to arthritis. FAQs
How does Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) work?
Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) works by inhibiting cyclooxygenase (more specifically, cyclooxygenase 2, or cox-2) enzymes that catalyze the production of prostanoids, substances that catalyze inflammation and pain. Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) is believed to halt the production of prostanoids, lessening pain, without compromising the homeostatic quality of cyclooxygenase in the kidneys, stomach, and gastrointestinal tract, thus protecting the GI system.
Does Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) cure Osteoarthritis or Rheumatoid Arthritis?
No. Currently, there is no cure for these types of arthritis, but taking Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib) may reduce pain and inflammation caused by these arthritic diseases.
Have had asthma, hives or allergic reactions after taking aspirin or other NSAID medicines
Are allergic to Celebrex or to any of the ingredients in Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib)
If you have asthma, you may have aspirin-sensitive asthma. If an aspirin-sensitive asthmatic takes aspirin it can cause severe narrowing of the airway (bronchospasm) and even death. Since this type of reaction to aspirin and other NSAID medicines have happened in aspirin-sensitive patients, aspirin-sensitive patients should not take Generic Celebrex (Celecoxib).

Tell your health care provider if you:
Are trying to become pregnant, are already pregnant, or are breast-feeding
