How to use
Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) is taken orally, usually 3 times a day. Your doctor will usually start you off on a low dose and then gradually increase it to reduce the risk of side effects. Follow the instructions of your doctor exactly, even if they differ from the usually recommended dosage.

Do not exceed the recommended dosage of Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) and do not stop using this medication suddenly. Instead, you should gradually reduce the dosage to prevent withdrawal symptoms, such as seizures and hallucinations.

Use Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) regularly and at approximately the same time each day to enjoy its maximum benefits.

Overdose

Potential symptoms of a Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) overdose include:

• Severe muscle weakness
• Vomiting
• Severe drowsiness
• Seizures
• Slowed breathing
• Loss of consciousness

If you think you have taken too much of this medication, you should contact your local poison control center or the emergency medical services immediately.

Missed Dose
If you miss a dose of Generic Lioresal (Baclofen), take it as soon as you remember. If it is nearly time for your next dosage, skip the missed dose and continue with your regular schedule. Do not double up on this medication to make up for a missed dose.

Notes
Do not share this medication with others as they may have a condition that is not effectively treated with Generic Lioresal (Baclofen).

Storage
Store Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) at room temperature, between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 and 30 degrees C), away from heat and moisture. Once the medication is finished, dispose of it in keeping with environmental laws. KEEP THIS AND ALL OTHER MEDICATION OUT OF REACH OF CHILDREN.

Precautions
Before taking Generic Lioresal (Baclofen), you should inform your doctor of your medical history, especially including:

If you suffer or ever have suffered from any of the above, you may not be able to take Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) or you may need a dosage adjustment.

Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) may cause dizziness or drowsiness. Do not drive or operate heavy machinery until you are sure you can perform these activities safely.

Caution is advised when Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) is used by elderly people. This medication is removed by the kidneys and, as you get older, kidney function declines. Therefore, elderly people may be more sensitive to certain side effects of this medication, such as mental or mood changes.

Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) is classified as Pregnancy Category C by the FDA, which means it could be potentially harmful to an unborn baby. It is not recommended to take this medication if you are currently pregnant or planning to become pregnant during treatment. Discuss your options with your doctor.
Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) passes into breast milk and could possibly harm a nursing infant. Do not take this medication if you are currently breastfeeding.

Drug Interactions
Before taking Generic Lioresal (Baclofen), you need to inform your doctor of all other medicines you are currently using, which may interact with this medication. This includes:

• Certain antihistamines (e.g. diphenhydramine)
• Anti-seizure drugs (e.g. carbamazepine)
• Medicine for sleep or anxiety (e.g. alprazolam, diazepam, zolpidem)
• Other muscle relaxants
• Narcotic pain relievers (e.g. codeine)
• Psychiatric medicines (e.g. chlorpromazine, risperidone, trazodone)
• Any medication containing ingredients that cause drowsiness
• Isoniazid (INH)
• Phenothiazines (e.g. thioridazine)
• Theophylline
• Tricyclic antidepressants (e.g. amitriptyline)

This is only a partial list and other medication may interact with Generic Lioresal (Baclofen). Let your doctor know about all other prescription and non-prescription medication you are using, including vitamins, minerals, herbal pills, dietary supplements and medication prescribed by other doctors. Do not start or stop taking any medication without discussing this with your doctor first.

The following common side effects of Generic Lioresal (Baclofen) may occur:

• Drowsiness
• Dizziness
• Weakness
• Tiredness
• Headache
• Trouble sleeping
• Nausea
• Constipation

If any of the above side effects persist or worsen, you should contact your doctor as soon as possible.

Inform your doctor straightaway if you experience any of these unlikely but serious side effects:

• Mental or mood changes (e.g. confusion, depression, hallucinations)
• Changes in hearing or vision
• Seizures
• Fast or pounding heartbeat
• Fainting
• Black or bloody stools

Seek urgent medical attention if you have any of the following rare but very serious side effects:

• Chest pain
• Shortness of breath

In rare cases, you may experience a severe allergic reaction to Generic Lioresal (Baclofen). Seek emergency medical attention if you suffer from any of the following symptoms:

• Rash
• Itching or swelling (especially of the face, tongue or throat)
• Severe dizziness
• Trouble breathing

This is only a partial list and other side effects may occur. Notify your doctor straightaway if you experience any side effects other than the ones mentioned above, especially if they are bothersome.
